To be honest, I have no idea whether or not The Greeks, the new single by London band Is Tropical, is any good or not. The only way I’d be able to judge it on its quality is by closing my eyes when this video plays, but that’s not something I’m prepared to do.
Directed by MEGAFORCE, the team who brought us Tame Impala’s Solitude is Bliss video last year, the clip begins simply enough with a few rascals playing a game of water gun shoot-’em-up. When the animation (by the brilliant Seven from Machine Molle) kicks in, though, it becomes a blood-splattered, fire-blowing, drug-fuelled action epic, the likes of which not even Bruce “Mr Action Movie” Willis has seen!
Our favorite moment comes in the last third of the video, when the
ravenous little monsters devour a whole roasted chicken—because even
baby infidels get hungry!
